In the heart of Ljubljana, very close to the old city in the city center. We have fully renovated a very old and historical building, built originally in 12th century. Between the breathless views of Ljubljanica castle, Ljubljana river, and the square of Vodnjak na Novem trgu is now what will sit a beatufilly and carefully designed 5 star hotel with a Cca 1350 m2(brut). The design inspiration for this project was “less is more”.

Besides the fantastic location of this historical building at Jurčičev trg 1 this hotel is instantly recognizable by one of its feature characteristic that os which is the roof. The roof comes out and away from the beautiful facade of this building in a polygonal shape. This is because when the building was originally cuntruscted the structure and facade of the building came out under this polygonal shape of the roof. Ljubljanica river once flowed directly in front of the building before the development of the roads along the rivers. As the city developed and the years passed these roads were expanded and renovated in to the streets they are today. As the they were expanding the streets it was realized that the distance between the building and Ljubljanica river was not enough space to expand the street. A solution was developed to remove this corner of the building to make space for the wider street, however it was decided to keep the roof at its original proportion.

This beautiful and historical building will feature a restaurant on its ground floor and 5 star hotel complete with a spa. The spa is located in the basement of this hotel which was completed dug out as the foundation of the building was reinforced. The basement was originally 60m2 and now expands across 165m2. The building was also added two extra floors whhich can be viewed as you reach the top of the stairs that open up into a beautiful anteroom with high ceiling. A lift was designed into the construction which runs trough all the floors at the center of the building. During the renovations of the rooms some very old paintings were found painted on the walls. They have been restored and renovated giving this hotel a very unique look. The wooden beams have also been kept and restored in the rooms. The design of the room is very simple with open bathroom which opens up the space for more natural light coming from the windows.

The intricate pallette was carefully selected to compliment the hotel and its features giving it a sophisticated and elegant feeling.
