design: LPWK – Marcello Jori
product description
This series of “Figure,” figurines, purposeless objects or whatever you want to call them, are presented here for the first time. Their study has been going on since the 1990s but has been kept under lock and key until now. The goal is to compare the intriguing world of porcelain figures, particularly the refined production tradition of European manufacturers from the 18th century onwards, with Alessi’s methods and with contemporary designers.

Since the founding of the brand, in 1921, most products have been made by cold metalworking, a tradition that has been preserved to this day by Italian artisans. The mission of the Alessi brand has always been and will be to translate its search for the most avant-garde design into mass production. Their products are the result of a constant reconciliation between art and industry, between the greatness of creative potential and the desires of the market. Alessi likes to present itself as a “dream factory” that uses their products to materialize people’s dreams and feed them with art and poetics.
