Between 1951 and 1957, Le Corbusier designed the Sanskar Kendra Museum, a museum in the Indian city of Ahmedabad. The spiralshaped building contains all the fundamentals of his architecture. For this project, in 1954 Le Corbu conceived a lighting system he named “Projecteur”, installed in the structure to maximise the lighting effect.

Le Corbusier’s early interest in the fine arts profoundly influenced his architectural vision, which is characterised by clean lines and geometric colour planes. He believed that painting, sculpture and architecture are not separate disciplines, but inseparable forms of artistic expression.

Nemo, founded in Milan in 1993 by Franco Cassina, is a reference name that has its roots in a history of innovations that has always inspired Italian design. In 2020, following the acquisition of the historical Turin-based lighting company Ilti Luce, it comes to life Nemo Studio which is committed to the research and development of innovative solutions for architectural lighting design in the museum, retail and outdoor sectors.

Today Nemo, with headquarters in Milan and branches in France and the United States, has a distribution network in more than 40 countries.
