Richard Sapper created this kettle inspired by a childhood remembrance, the poetic sound of boats’ sirens at River Rhine: this is because the melody that accompanies the vapour outlet must be pleasant and not anxious like the whistle of boilers. This induction kettle is a polysensory object which will not interrupt an enjoyable break with a whistle, but with a captivating melody.

Since the founding of the brand, in 1921, most products have been made by cold metalworking, a tradition that has been preserved to this day by Italian artisans. The mission of the Alessi brand has always been and will be to translate its search for the most avant-garde design into mass production. Their products are the result of a constant reconciliation between art and industry, between the greatness of creative potential and the desires of the market. Alessi likes to present itself as a “dream factory” that uses their products to materialize people’s dreams and feed them with art and poetics.
